FULDA GAP 1985 A Cold War Simulation
June 1985. The Soviet 8th Guards Army has crossed the border. NATO's central front is buckling. You have minutes, not hours, before the line breaks.
FULDA GAP is a real-time tactical browser game set at the flashpoint of a hypothetical World War Three in Central Europe — and in the South Atlantic three years earlier. Command NATO and British forces across two full campaigns, manage your units under fire, call in air strikes, and hold the line against overwhelming Soviet armour.
▶ TWO FULL CAMPAIGNS
Cold War — Central Europe, June 1985 Seven missions across the Fulda Gap, Hof Corridor, Frankfurt Approaches, the Weser and Elbe river lines, and a decisive night action. The campaign escalates from a desperate rearguard to a full V Corps counter-thrust, with Colonel Karpov commanding the Soviet forces throughout — and talking to you on the radio the entire time.
Falklands — South Atlantic, 1982 A second campaign beginning at the San Carlos Water beachhead and pushing toward Goose Green. Royal Marines, 2 PARA, Scimitars and MILAN teams against Argentine infantry, Panhard armoured cars and Tigercat SAMs.
▶ ORDER OF BATTLE
NATO forces include M1 Abrams, M2 Bradley, Leopard 2, Challenger, Scimitar, AH-64 Apache, A-10 Warthog, Harrier GR.3, Lynx, M109 SPH, Gepard SPAAG, Royal Marines, Parachute Regiment, MILAN ATGW teams and Engineer units.
Soviet forces include T-80, T-72, BMP-2, Mi-24 Hind gunships, SA-9 Gaskin and ZSU-23-4 air defence, and Karpov's command T-80 — always the last thing you want to see crossing the breach line.
▶ FEATURES

- Sandbox mode — build your own order of battle and set the terms of engagement
- Medal system — Gold, Silver and Bronze awards per mission with bonus objectives
- Three difficulty levels — Easy, Normal and Hard
- Retro CRT terminal aesthetic with authentic military radio chatter
- Optional AI opponent — connect a Claude API key to bring Karpov to life as a fully reactive adversary who responds to your tactics in real time
- Runs entirely in the browser — no install, no account required
▶ HOW TO PLAY
Click any unit to select it, then click a target to engage. Use smoke screens to screen bridges under pressure. Call in air strikes from the status panel. Watch the breach line — that is the only line that matters.
"The Gap was never just geography. It was everything we had."
Feel free to adjust the tagline or trim any section to fit your page layout. The Optional AI opponent line is worth keeping prominent — it's a genuine differentiator.
