HEXBUSTERS

A fast, tactical quiz of skill and strategy, built as a single

browser game. Part trivia, part territory control. Inspired by the

classic TV quiz shows of the 1990s, rebuilt as its own thing.

WHAT IT IS

You and an opponent fight over a board of twenty hexagons. Each hex

hides a clue whose answer begins with that letter. Answer correctly

and the hex is yours. The catch is the geometry: you and your rival

are trying to build lines in different directions, so every hex you

take is also a hex you deny them.

HOW TO PLAY

• Solo connects TOP to BOTTOM (a chain of four hexes).

• The Pair connects LEFT to RIGHT (a chain of five).

• Pick a hex, read the clue, type the answer that starts with that

  letter — or switch on multiple choice and tap an option.

• A correct answer keeps you in control and you pick again.

• Miss it and your opponent gets one STEAL attempt at the same clue

  — then play passes over to them.

• First to link their two sides wins the game. Win two games to take

  the match and earn a shot at the Gold Streak.

THE GOLD STREAK

The bonus round. One player, seventy-five seconds, a board of

initials. Name what each set of initials stands for and lay a golden

trail from the left edge to the right. Miss one and it is blocked —

route around it before the clock runs out.

  Standard and Sharp. The AI plans the shortest path and will block

  you or race ahead, and it pounces on your mistakes with a steal.

  Military History and a tough new Expert round.

• Type-the-answer or multiple-choice, your call. Tolerant answer

  matching, plus an "actually, I was right" override for near misses.

• A speaking host reads the clues aloud — choose Clues Only or Full

  Commentary, or switch the voice off.

• Two looks: a clean Modern theme and a green-phosphor Retro CRT

  mode with scanlines.

• A Daily Challenge — the same board for everyone, every day.

• Saved stats: win streaks, matches won and your best Gold Streak.

• Original chiptune soundtrack and effects, generated in the browser.

CONTROLS

• Mouse or touch to pick hexes and tap answers.
