TROY: THE WINE-DARK SEA

A strategy epic of the Trojan War. Ten years. Two heroes. One thousand ships.

A thousand sails on the horizon. Achilles in his tent by the black ships. Hector before the Scaean Gate. The greatest war story in the Western canon, told turn by turn — and yours to win or lose.

TROY: THE WINE-DARK SEA is a deep solo strategy game built on Homer. Play either side of the war — Agamemnon's Greek host, or Priam's defenders. Pick two of your heroes to lead the campaign. Across thirty turns and ten years, you'll fight pitched battles on the Trojan plain, naval actions in the Aegean, single combats between champions, and a slow grinding siege of the great walls. Cassandra prophesies. Apollo strikes the plague. The gods take sides. And the scribe in your tent records everything.

FEATURES

- Both sides playable — lead the Greek expedition under Agamemnon, or defend Troy under Priam. Each has its own heroes, allies, and Homeric narrative arc

- Eight named heroes — Greeks: Achilles, Odysseus, Ajax the Great, Diomedes, Agamemnon. Trojans: Hector, Paris, Aeneas. Each with stats, traits (Reckless, Strategic, Cunning, Loyal, Diplomatic), wounds, glory, and experience

- Named hero abilities — "Aristeia of Peleus's Son" (Achilles), "Counsel of Many Stratagems" (Odysseus), "Wall of the Achaeans" (Ajax), "God-Breaker's Charge" (Diomedes), "High King's Muster" (Agamemnon), "Defender of Troy" (Hector), "Arrow from the Shadows" (Paris), "Piety of the Dardanian" (Aeneas), plus co-operative abilities when the right heroes campaign together

- Three combat systems — large-scale land battles with rounds, casualties, and divine intervention; naval engagements with ram damage, oar and sail attrition, ships sunk; and hero duels between champions

- Eight allied factions — Greek allies: Lycia (Sarpedon), Thessaly (Protesilaus), Crete (Idomeneus), Aetolia. Trojan allies: Thrace (Rhesus), Phrygia, Paphlagonia, and Memnon's Ethiopia. Send tribute, secure alliances, watch for betrayal

- Scripted narrative beats from Homer — the landing at Troy, Paris's challenge to single combat, Achilles's withdrawal over Briseis, Diomedes wounding Aphrodite and Ares, the death of Patroclus, the god-forged shield of Hephaestus, Hector at the Scaean Gate, Penthesilea of the Amazons, the wooden horse. Each delivered as a cinematic interlude with a historical note and a quote from the Iliad

- Diplomacy, oracles, divine omens, and weather — Olympian gods intervene roughly 1 in 6 battles. The seasons turn. Apollo can be courted; he can also be offended

- Living war journal — every battle, alliance, oracle, ability, siege action, and campaign beat is logged in a scrollable parchment-style journal, filterable by category and preserved across save/load

- Achievements and glory — heroes accumulate glory through victory; achievements record the deeds of your campaign
